Christopher A. Hamm, DMD

Dr. Christopher A. Hamm is a native of Alabaster, AL (a suburb of Birmingham). He attended the University of South Alabama for undergraduate studies, where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. As a bonus, Dr. Hamm met his wife at school, and they now have three beautiful children.

Growing up, Dr. Hamm always aspired to be a surgeon. He had a strong desire to work with his hands and heal people.

While working on a children’s ministry at Wilmer Baptist Church, he had the fortune of meeting Dr. Brown, who was a dentist. Dr. Hamm seized the opportunity to shadow Dr. Brown during his college years and quickly fell in love with dentistry.

He then pursued his DMD degree at LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Tampa, FL, and began working with Dr. Brown after graduating in 2017.

Nowadays, Dr. Hamm has combined dental expertise with his kind and caring nature to create a unique faith-based approach to dentistry. Dr. Hamm is passionate about all aspects of dentistry, especially pediatric care, and special needs dentistry. For him, seeing his patients transition from defeated and scared to happy and hopeful is an extraordinary moment.

What do you like to do outside of the office?
I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my wife and kids. As a family, we are very active in our church and I love attending school functions for my children. I am an avid gardener and lover of design. I also enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and outdoor activities.

Who is your hero and why?
My hero is my mom. We are very similar people, and she pushes me to be my best. She drives me crazy because we are so alike, but she has made me into the man I am today. My mom has pushed me to try harder my entire life, and for that, I’m genuinely thankful.

What was the best day of your life and why?
The day I became a dad. I have been given the privilege of raising three beautiful children who are unique and challenge me in their own way. I can’t remember what life was like before my kids came along, but I am sure it was boring.

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I rode my bicycle from San Francisco, CA, to Washington, DC as a part of a 67 day Journey of Hope…Opens a new window to the website…. We raised over $500,000 for individuals with disabilities of all kinds, and were able to personally hand out grant money to organizations we visited along the way.

The doctor made it fast and easy. The best experience we've ever had. My son really liked it there!
